Summer Solstice

On the Summer Solstice, which occurs on June 21, the Sun is at its highest path through the sky and the day is the longest. Because the day is so long the Sun does not rise exactly in the east, but rises to the north of east and sets to the north of west allowing it to be in the sky for a longer period of time.

All these were shot tonight on Summer Solstice the longest day of the year.

A great day for photography. I love the rainbow!

June 21 marked the 4th year wedding anniversary for Robyn & James. I wonder if that "longest day" idea got factored in to the thought process?

Keep shooting brother - maybe one day you will find a subject worthy of your skill.

Wow! A lot of variety in one night. Guess you made good use of the extra daylight hours. Phil really likes the sunset picture! Though we think it suspiciously looks like the tropics - sure you are stil on location in VT?

I thought it looked a little tropical too... Are you also an amature weather man? Longest solstice of the year...
