This series has been chosen to represent our present association with a certain Arctic air mass that has moved into our region.

Freeze Frames

Snowscape

Winter, though a long time coming is firmly entrenched and holds our land in an icy grip.

Although sometimes severe, Winter offers a beauty unique to this season.

Northern Exposures

New Year's day was windy and mild here in the valley

Our changing weather created the conditions for some natural ice sculptures

Lighten Up

The cold air of winter is startlingly clear, Mt Mansfield from sixty seven miles away.

Feathered Friends

That tape of North American bird calls is already starting to pay big dividend's.

White Frosting

It was nice to see some color against the white snow.

You can't get frosting like that out of a can.

A Suggestion of Snow

The snow that was ordered for Christmas arrived a little late.

It can even make an old crab apple look pretty.
