Sugar on Snow

While cruising through the woods today I came across these tracks in the fresh snow.

It was plain to see that I had just jumped a pair of bees out of their beds.
Traces of honey on the snow confirmed my suspicions.
Pushing ahead I soon overtook my quarry.
Evidently Northern VT Honeybees yard up during the winter similar to Whitetail Deer. I found them much easier to track on the snow than on bare ground, which can be done but requires alot of patience.

Well Seasoned

Newly fallen snow gives a fresh new look to these old classic's.

Saints and Singers

This likeness of Saint Francis of Assisi dipicts his legendary rapport with all wild creatures especially birds. He would have loved the Black Capped Chickadees pictured below.

One never knows what a day might bring, I never expected to meet a cross eyed one legged bird today.
